Sep. 28th, 2010 10:22 amI went for my first walk outside in the new neighbourhood. I did not set a time or distance limit. I just walked to a point where I felt it was time to turn around and did just that. My pedometer reads that I walked 8,974 steps, or approximately 4 miles/6km. I do have a goal to make 10,000 steps a day a regularly occurring habit. I think if I can reach almost 9,000 steps without counting, 10,000 steps a day should not be a problem.
I met a few neighbours, out for their own morning walks. One elderly couple and an elderly woman with an ill tempered fluffy dog. She apologized profusely after said dog barked and growled at me. I wanted to explain to her that dogs tend to be that way around me, but I couldn't get a word in between the growling and her apologies.
It's true. If life was a SyFy movie of the week, it would soon be learned that I am the spawn of Satan. Dogs tend to bug out when I am around like it is end of days.
