Sep. 27th, 2010 03:26 pmToday has been a good writing day. I spent the morning finishing up a review of CBGB #3 for Fandomania.com. I have spent the afternoon working on a chapter of a novel and general notes about said novel. It's almost like I needed to have a temper tantrum and threaten to quit just to get it out of my system so I could get back to the order of business at hand.
I am still job hunting. I received a bizarre email this morning from a supposed head hunter who came across my resume on a site. She had a job she thought I might be good for. I checked out the link, but the description for the job was quite vague. I suppose I could learn more by applying and gaining an interview. The whole thing felt a little shady. Especially the salary that was offered. It's almost three times what I have ever made at a job before. Although that isn't saying much, considering I joined AmeriCorps because their stipend of below poverty allowance was also more than I had made at the time. So my bar is set a bit low when it comes to paychecks.
I am nervous about the end of the week. The Marriott goes live for taking reservations for Dragon*Con 2011. Last year the rooms sold out in less than an hour. Friends comfort me with support that they believe I will get a room. I hope they are right. If the strength of my anxiety level over the endeavor is any sign, than yes, I shall definitely secure a room for Dragon*Con 2011.
Currently Reading: Fantasy Freaks and Gaming Geeks (An Epic Quest for Reality Among Role Players,Online Gamers, and Other Dwellers of Imaginary Realms) by Ethan Gilsdorf (non-fiction)

Currently Listening to: Muse, Sigur Ros, Jonathan Coulton
Currently Obsessed with: Dragon*Con 2011 hotel reservations, Sumi-e painting, tiny boxes of juice.
