I just want to start this off with a picture of myself, wearing my scooter helmet that makes me feel like the bad guy from Aha's "Take On Me" music video, in my interview suit. Ahh, yeah.
Now, on to the Chili Cook-Off festivities!
Here I am sitting on a toilet, taking a shot of some blue beverage from one of Team Toilet Bowl's Chili Chef's. I was told that if I was good, the other chef would show me his pepper.
The other chef and his pepper.
Jonathan and me at the beach.
Jonathan and his fiance, the lush unaware her picture is about to be taken until mid shot.
Every spring, St. George Island,FL has a chili cook-off to help the SGI fire department. There is a Miss Chili Pepper and Mr. Hot Sauce competition, on Friday there is a golf tournament, and on Saturday is a 5K run and the chili cook-off. Vendors are allowed to bring prepared chili to serve festival goers, but the chili used for the competition doesn't start cooking until 11am, with judging at 2pm. We spent most of our time eating good chili, none that was spicy I might add. (One vendor told us since this was a charity event, they were all trying to keep the chili "user friendly" to boost the donations.)
The beach was gorgeous. The beer was cold and tasty. It was too perfect of a day to not be outside.
