My hair has been on the flaky side lately, so I decided to check out http://lush.com/ to see what all the fuss was about the solid shampoo.

First LUSH order:

The Seanick shampoo bar is a bright ocean blue, made with two kinds of softening seaweed, nori and Irish moss, which are both rather lovely for conditioning your hair. We add sea salt because it's an excellent cleanser (and good for sore scalps) and gives volume to your hair. Usually, our bright blue, ocean-themed products have a lavender and lime thread running through them, but this one is different. The lemon is there, to make sure that your hair is absolutely shiny and clean after a dip in the sea (or the pool), but we also have stunning jasmine, mimosa and orange blossom absolutes, the kind of fragrance which puts you in mind of a tropical garden. If you were rescued from the sea by a passing pirate ship, scrubbed down with lemons then invited into the pirate king's personal hothouse (where he houses his exotic plant collection), then you'd smell just like this. (Unlikely, we know, but pleasant to imagine.

I am in love. The solid bars produce so much lather and bubbles,with very little effort or use of the bar, and it easily penetrates the Cherokee rats' nest that is my hair. I have only used the Soak and Float bar, having only received this order on Thursday. I'll let you know how Seanick works out for me.

I noticed that I don't have any conditioner. Well, I needed to rectify that immediately. And hey, I need a new facial cleanser too and while I am at it, why not buy some soap.

It melts on the skin so you can softly smooth it all over the places which need cleansing (it's an excellent make-up remover) then to take it off use warm water on 100% cotton wool or a face cloth and you will be astonished at both how lovely and soft your face feels and how clean the Baby Face gets it. Each smiling bar has four different natural plant butters in it to remove dirt and put back moisture. Its lovely scent comes from toning tangerine oil, narcissus (which we use to make so you beautiful you'll want to look at your reflection all the time) and everlasting flower (to give you everlasting beauty).





(Rock Star soap)

Talking of bright pink, here's a soap for all of us who know we ought to be attracted to sophisticated beiges and navy blues but can't help grabbing everything pink!! The Rock Star soap smells just like Creamy Candy Bath and since so many of you have asked for more products with the same sweet, vanilla perfume, here you go! Cut through a big chunk and you'll find some little white soap stars inside; you'll find even more as you wash with it. You don't have to give this one away, really, but it might make you very popular if you do.

Yeah, the kicker? I used to browse the LUSH shoppe in New York City on my way to and from work everyday, when I lived there back in 2003. I never bought a single thing.

Now that I am about 267 miles away from the nearest shoppe, I become a LUSHie!

On the plus side, my status as "Hardest Person to Shop For" has now diminished slightly.
