An Athens,GA based jam band that I fell in love with summer of 2001. Darby Conley, the creator of the cartoon strip "Get Fuzzy" is the brother of one of the members of Fuzzy Sprouts. (His strip came about because of a poster he made for their band.

hot jewish physicists :
I was a weird kid and had a crush on the ultimate hot jewish physicist, Albert Einstein. Seriously, I had posters of him with kiss marks on his face on the walls of my bedroom. I made a really specific t-shirt that reads "I love my Jewish Physicist". (Instead of the more popular "I love my geek.") Most assume this is a reference to Jonathan, since he is a Jew and a physicist. But now, people might just wonder if I have been referring to the object of my youthful crush, Albert Einstein. I won't tell. ;)
beat poetry :
Beat poetry, from the Beat Generation - Ginsberg, Burroughs, Kerouac, et cetera.
I love poetry, and beat poetry is in my top three favourite styles. As a child, my mom would read me beat poetry as a bedtime story. And I think that is where my love for it developed.
junko mizuno :
She is a Japanese artist who mixes uber cute with bloody terror. I swear, someday I am going to file suit with her for drawing what is in my head.
I dig her art and she has a series of fairy tales retold in manga that are fun to read. (My favourite is the zombie retelling of Cinderella in "Junko Mizuno's Cinderalla.".)
kitsch: Kitsch generally refers to a style that is crass or tasteless. To be honest, I don't think I could decorate my entire house in the style, but I have just noticed that I have inadvertently kitsched out my kitchen. I'm a big fan of the seventies kitsch especially vomit green shag carpeting with mustard yellow crushed velvet circular couches.
I need help.
get fuzzy :
Get Fuzzy is a cartoon strip by Darby Conley, brother of one of the members of Fuzzy Sprouts. The story of the comic is about a shar pei/labrador mix named Satchel, a siamese cat named Bucky Katt, and their human, Rob. It's about their day to day life, which usually involves Bucky Katt concocting some scheme, Satchel being naive and Rob being frustrated. My description does no justice, read the comic:

I love this comic. It makes me guffaw laugh.
square root of pi: Good choice! Back in high school, my friend Justin convinced there must be some cap on my mathematical abilities challenged me to figure out the square root of pi, in my head.
And not just the abbreviated 3.14. Oh no, I think he gave me some leeway and made it only the first hundred digits.
Which I think is: 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510582097494459230781640628620899862803482534211706
Eventually, I figured it out, at least, I think this is the square root:
1.7724538509055159
But unfortunately by that time, we were both in college and not really keeping in touch.
The point of this is I am a mathematical freak.

Uffie is a rapper who lives in France. Not to be confused with being a French rapper. She is related to someone I know dearly and love to mock about the fact that his cousin is a rapper in France.
The sad thing is, I have one of her songs memorized and actually kind of like it. I have seen her perform live and I think others (Skip? Jaime?) might back me up on the belief that she gives a great show.
