People suggesting I go into teaching because I have a degree in English.
Also, people assuming I am a teacher because I have a degree in English.
Why is it annoying?
1. If I wanted to be a teacher, I would have majored in something like EDUCATION!
2. It's insulting to the Education majors who are working their collective asses off training to become the educators of our future.
3. Why not ask the Physics major if he is going to teach or the Engineering major or the Math major too? Yeah, sounds silly doesn't it? Well that is how English majors or English degree holders feel when you ask them.
